In such good condition, the hamon is still very clear (original polish).
The 7 3/8 inch blade is in very good condition, just a couple of small wear / age patches and minor scratches, clear straight hamon, firm in the hilt. The hilt has lost some gilt through wear, but not too much. The grip rayskin, imperial cherry blossom and twisted grip wire all good. The lacquered scabbard / sheath with gilt on brass fittings is good, though much gilt worn away. The dirk sheathes and draws well; the locking mechanism works as it should.
