Wilkinson serial number 10081 for 1860, their sales ledger confirms the sword was sold to C Lart. The stylized initials under the Lart family crest of a rampant lion “C L”

The 34 1/2 inch period sharpened blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard with a light inert rusting / steady patina is good. The fishskin grip has some minor wear patches but is generally very good, as are the twisted grip wire bindings. The original sword knot is very worn and tatty but a huge bonus. The steel scabbard with a light inert rusting / steady patina, just like the hilt, is good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Very nice sword with full provenance. Go on, you know it’s worth it; was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference X62. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1332-121x19x16 (2.462).
