Most likely made by Wilkinson Sword as they were the standard maker of choice by Gieves. Possibly in parade ground condition (always a personal / subjective view).
The 31 inch blade is well etched and in mostly very good condition, some silvered pitting, some small patina spots, and firm in the hilt. Hilt / guard generally very good; the folding section works well and locates properly onto the securing pin of the scabbard. White fishskin grip with some age / wear etc but still very good, as are the associated twisted grip wire bindings. Sword knot with a little age / wear but sound / good. The leather and gilt brass fittings scabbard good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Nice example, probably dating to the 1970’s. Yours for was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference X60. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1309-102x19x16 (1.968).
