You can read about the Welch Knife on the Royal Armouries site here. You can begin to understand how rare they are when you see what one sold for in 2015 at the very end of this page, a staggering was £? (too late, now sold) plus auction buyer commission; we are asking just under a quarter of that, so be quick on this one! The Welch Knife came both maker (Joubert) marked and unmarked (from local French armouries); this one is guaranteed authentic / unmarked from a local armoury. A really fearsome weapon used by both Royal Welsh Fusilier trench raiding parties and machine gun units.
The entire knife / sword is 58.5 cm long. The blade and grip is made from a single piece of steel. The guard folds well. The entire condition is good but with age / some pitting.
You absolutely are unlikely to ever get a chance to buy another, let alone at such a low price. Yours, grab it quick, for was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference X52. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1311-60x30x15 (2.016).
