Such a rare sword, only made for NCO’s (staff sergeants), with solid riveted hilt. This is one of the earliest with Edward VII’s cypher to the guard. How rare? Just Google “British 1905 Pattern Staff Sergeant’s Sword”. An absolute must have for any and every serious Wilkinson Sword collector, especially those who like the patent solid hilt swords above all others.
The 32 3/4 inch blade is very good condition and very very firm in the hilt (of course). The steel hilt / guard very good. The fishskin riveted grip in good condition. The steel scabbard with a little tarnish / age etc. is very good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Rare, made rarer by its superb condition. Don’t hang around on this one! was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference X37. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1277-101x18x16 (2.545).
