With some age, a very well made and solid cross hilted Scottish broadsword, most likely early to mid 20C. If you like well made heavy cross hilts, this is your boy; note the lack of a hole in the pommel (so the sword was made as a cross hilt, not one interchangeable cross-basket). No markings, so a private purchase / bespoke / custom made sword.
30 1/8 Inch blade in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt very good as are the leather grip and associated grip wire bindings. The heavy steel scabbard very good. The total weight of this sword and scabbard is 1.644 Kg. The sword sheathes and draws well.
An exceptionally well made sword, just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference X27. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1275-121x19x16 (2.769).
