Perhaps even rarer than the ribbon hilted highland broadsword for foot clansman, this is a McAllister steel hilted broadsword for a mounted Scottish clansman.
The 34 3/4 inch blade is straight and true except for the slightest minor bending towards the point end (too minor for me to photo). Blade with some pitting but in very good condition and firm in the grip / hilt. The steel hilt in amazingly good order for its age, though clearly aged. The presumed original twisted wire grip is very good.
