The maker’s name (Manufacture de Klingenthal Coulaux ainé et Cie) and B under crown poinçon (inspection mark) indicate 1837-1837 when the Institution Jauffret in Paris first opened.

The 34 1/4 inch blade is mostly good but some patina / inert rust near the tip. Blade firm in the grip. Disc guard is loose, as to be expected. The woven fabric grip is a little worn but good. The scabbard is in pieces and missing the bottom chape.
