Etched to Lesley & Roberts, 16 George Street, Hanover Sq, W1. Lesley & Roberts, still in business today, are very high end tailors who never made swords, but had a true maker put their name to swords for their discerning clientele. Whichever officer once owned this sword, he was very well to do.

The exceptionally well grey etched 32 7/8 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt is good, but has tiny speckles and where the sword knot is has suffered some light rusting (now treated). The fishskin grip is in good condition, as are the associated twisted grip wire bindings. The original sword knot is in good condition and a welcome bonus except for the light rusting it has allowed. The plated steel scabbard is in good condition but with speckles. The sword sheathes and draws well if a little freely.
A well above average example and just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number W34. Further / full sized pictures available upon request. Box 1152-101x19x16 (1.900).
