In very good condition, a George VI British Cavalry Officer’s Wilkinson Sword.
Serial number 69519 for 1951. We have not tried to research the original owner / officer / entry on the Wilkinson sales ledger but this is available through Royal Armouries for £10.
The 35 1/16 inch blade is in very good condition but some light surface rust speckles. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard is good but with some age / tarnish / small edge rust spots. The grip is good but faded a little and with some wear and spotting, but not much. Grip wire good. THe leather sword knot os believed original and sound / good. The leather field service scabbard is aged and a little worn but good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A well above average example and Wilkinson! Reasonably priced at £700. Please quote item reference number W05. Further / full sized pictures available upon request. Box 1124-121x18x17 (2.451).
