There are a LOT of reproductions of this iconic Fascist M.V.S.N. (Italian Milizia Volontaria per la Sicurezza Nazionale) daggers on the market, but this one is 100% authentic / genuine. Brought by us from the son-in-law of a British soldier who brought this home after serving in Italy. It is not that difficult to tell authentic items like this from copies, natural aging is virtually impossible to fake.
The period sharpened 8 1/8 inch blade is in very good shape, firm in the hilt. The cross piece aged but good. The grip worn but good. All firm. The blackened / browned steel sheath has some very light rusting but not too much. The knife sheathes and draws well but does not full sheath; probably something got into the sheath and is stuck there (may be possible to scrape out). Priced well below the market average for an above average example, just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference number V66. Further / full sized pictures available upon request.
