A scarce signal corps sword. It could possibly be restored for parade use by a present day officers (the hilt replated and maybe a new scabbard – replating the blade would greatly diminish the etching). Blade serial number 87580 for 1964.

The 32 1/2 inch blade is in good condition but with some wear and patina spots / patches. Blade firm in the hilt. Hilt / guard mostly good but with some small inert rust / patina patches, mostly inside the bowl guard. Grip overall in very good condition, as are the associated twisted grip wire bindings. Leather field service scabbard is good but with age and wear. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Good example. Just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference V56. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1003-121x18x16 (1.842).
