Pre-Boer War with battle honours to and including Suakin. Levee = light weight dress sword with slender piquet weight blade. This sword made by the famous Cater & Co.
32 3/8 Inch blade in good overall condition, the etching still clear. Blade firm in the hilt. The guard and hilt with small rust patches but very sound. The grip in very good condition, as are the twisted grip wire bindings. The scabbard with light rust spots, more one side than the other. The sword sheathes and draws well.
