Serial number 45240 for early WW1 (1914); regrettably part of the gap in the Wilkinson sales ledger, so we are unable to identify the officer. Blade complete with battle honours such as Egypt (with Sphinx) and Waterloo, all the way to South Africa (Boer War).

The 32 1/2 inch blade has some rust towards the point and plenty of patina. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard mostly very good but with some age inside and small rust spots to the edges. The grip and grip wire generally very good. The leather scabbard has a break / tear one side (can be easily glued). The leather work is generally good except for the sword knot which only the strap remains. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Would probably restore (if blade cleaned and replated) but looks good as it is. And the price looks good too; was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference S61. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 0673-121x17x17 (2.057).
