A British 1853 pattern cavalry trooper’s sword with a difference, this is a rare example of a British Mounted Police Officer’s Sword by Parker Field & Sons.
The 35 inch blade is in very good condition (the tiniest section of the tip has gone but is hardly noticeable and may well / seems to be be period damage) and firm in the hilt. The steel hilt and heavy steel scabbard are both very sound but have pitting / patina throughout. The composite grip is aged and worn but still sound / good. The sword sheathes and draws well enough, but requires a light shove to fully sheath.
You really do not find many of these, so snap it up at just was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference R39. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 0506-1.18 (2.909).
