With Dutch regimental markings to the scabbard, “CW N 1 41”. This is a Dutch Klewang cutlass which was converted by the Japanese into a Heiho during WW2.

The 17 5/8 inch blade is period sharpened and has nicks to the cutting edge, firm in the hilt. The hilt with some wear and a chip missing. The leather and brass scabbard is good though aged. The cutlass sheathes and draws well.
Good example with the prospect the original Dutch KNIL regiment could be identified; was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference Q71. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 0463-82 (1.457).
