Etched “Hamburger Rogers & Co. King St. Covnt. Garden London” to the forte / ricasso. Circa 1875. 1821 Pattern.
The partially etched 35 1/4 inch blade has some age / wear but is good and firm in the hilt. The steel three bar guard and hilt are aged but good, some small powder rust patches inside, some wear throughout. The black fishskin grip has turned light grey with age / wear, plus has some tiny dry shrinkage gaps around the edges but remains good. The twisted grip wire bindings are mostly good, but one turn has a lesser strand slightly astray. The steel scabbard has some creamy tarnish discoloration and slight scrapes but is still good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
