Sound condition = quite good condition.
Serial number to the blade is 125066, the serial number on the scabbard throat is illegible through wear.
Guaranteed authentic (the saya is blackened, which may not be original).
Japanese Type 95 NCO’s Shin Gunto. NCO = Non Commissioned Officer (e.g. sergeant).
The 27 1/4 inch blade (excluding habaki brass blade collar) is in pitted and stained / worn condition. Everything firm. The tsuka / hilt in good condition; the locking pin mechanism works. The blackened saya / scabbard is in good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.
