Late war? Synthetic / cloth rayskin, plain iron tsuba.
Marine Landing Officer’s? Note tsuba and anchor mark to tang.
Please note: the photos show a black thing or more. These are a reflection of our plug and cable; the blade is in such good condition that it reflects everything?
Blade Showato or Gendaito? Unsigned with a particularly nice straight hamon; is this etched (non-traditional) or natural (from traditional forging)? It is priced as Showato but you decide.
Probably a post surrender stores item made from the limited available parts (hence the plain iron tsuba guard).
The 26 1/4 inch (katana length) nagasa (cutting edge section excluding habaki) blade is in very good original condition; a couple of minor scuff marks, but nothing much. Everything firm. Grip in very good order. Saya / scabbard is good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
