Levee, slim dress blade. 1897 Pattern with an in turned hilt edge / lip to help prevent tunic fraying. Many people hold Mole swords to be equal or better in quality to Wilkinsons.
The 32 1/4 inch well etched blade has some age (small area of inert rust, wear, etc.) but it is still good to very good and firm in the hilt. The steel (not plated) hilt / guard with Victorian “VR” cypher to the guard’s cartouche has some age (inert rust freckle patches to the backpiece and inside the guard) but is still generally good (caveat: we do not know the hilt’s condition under the sword knot but suspect it is equally good). The black iishskin grip has patches of age fading but is good, as are the associated twisted grip wire bindings. The plated steel dress scabbard has age (discoloration) and a few minor scuffs / dings but remains good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
