Scarce Solingen made example, etched to maker Horster at forte, engraved “Captain P S Mosse 14th / 20th Hussars” to the blade’s spine. Capt Mosse served in the 1950’s and 60’s. This is a 1912p cavalry officer’s sword which is still the current pattern in the UK and elsewhere.
The supremely well etched 35 inch blade is in very good condition (some light sheathing / drawing markings) anf firm in the hilt. The steel bowl guard has some milky age tarnish (would brighten up with TLC and a good finishing polish) but is still very good. The faux black fishskin grip is good, including the twisted grip wire bindings. Sword knot good. Steel scabbard with some age / wear / small dings pimarily aound the drag / chape but is nonetheless good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
