VGC = Very Good Condition. Serial number 13020 for 1864; a mid Victorian British Light Cavalry Officer’s Wilkinson Sword with Patent Solid Hilt. Details of possible original owner / officer applied for with Royal Armouries from the Wilkinson sales ledger; if you buy it before we get a response (and potentially increase the price), you may have the sword collector’s bargian of the century (NB layaway not available on this sword).
The well etched 35 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard has some age (inert small former rust patches) but is good. The composite grip is in very good condition. The leather field service scabbard has age / scuffs and a small section that has 3/4 torn away, but is generally good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
