Circa 1782, an early 5 ball hilted sword with ivory grip.
Ivory registration number PHXBX1JK

The curved 28 inch blade has plenty of patina patches but is in good condition and firm in the hilt. The early 5 ball hilt with so called “pillow pommel” is also aged but good. The fluted ivory grip in good, indeed above average condition for its age. The leather and brass fittings scabbard is also in good condition for its age but the leather is cracking and tight from drying when sheathing and drawing the sword (let’s be honest, it is a miracle that is has survived as it has after over 240 years).
A truly great example and at a really good price of £700. Please quote item reference AI52. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2073 99 x 11 x 11 (1.429).
