The blue and gilt etched blade is in good condition, some small patina / light inert pitting patches to the edges, the blue and gilt etching still vivid, firm in the hilt. The gilt brass guard and hilt in good condition for their 200+ year age. The twisted silver metal wire grip is very good. The leather with brass fittings scabbard showing its age; leather shrinkage, leather tear one side, scuffing, surface layer patchy losses, brass worn and dull, but sound. The sword sheathes and draws well for the most part but is tight for the last inch or so due to the leather age shrinkage.
