What we know about this Royal Navy officer from the included documents and a little research: He passed the Royal Observer Corps Intermediate Test on 7th December 1944, was aged 48 in 1967, he was an instructor office in the Royal Navy at least until 1967, he was working in the Nigeria Education Department (Kano) in 1955 (according to his Nigerian driver’s license which is included), his wife’s name was Marjorie Wendy Tonge.
We believe the sword to date from WW2 to 1950.
