The Napoleonic French Troupes de Marine are army, not navy! The markings “C. GDE” to the pommel show the saber was kept at an arsenal in Paris.
The 22 13/16 blade is very sharp, in good condition and firm in the hilt. The one piece brass hilt / guard / grip is in good order, some dents /scrapes. There is no scabbard.
