The blade has been overly cleaned; it once would have had blue and gilt etching. Now, only a few patina patches attest to its age. The blade is original to the sword and has not been re-seated as far as can be seen. The 32-inch blade has been cleaned bright, has a few patina spots, and is firm in the hilt and grip. The hilt / guard is in good condition. The original leather grip is good, most of the associated grip wire bindings are present and good. The steel scabbard has multiple dents / dings and the throat piece is missing. The sword sheathes and draws loosely.
