Period / well sharpened (and still sharp) with a few small period nicks (patina inside nick, no burr) British light cavalry officer’s saber and scabbard, grip with wear; almost certainly has seen combat against Napoleon’s imperial grand army. The etching mostly worn away but the post-1801 British Royal Coat of Arms still visible.

The 32 5/8 inch blade worn, sharp, a couple of old / period nicks, but in good condition and firm in the hilt. The hilt / guard good. The leather grip with wear, the twisted grip wire bindings good but some lesser strand movement due to wear. The steel field service scabbard is generally good. The saber sheathes and draws well.
High quality fighting sabre which has clearly seen action. One heck of an evocative investment. Yours for was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference AG73. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1514-129x17x16 (2.781).
