Well etched along much of both sides of the blade. No maker’s / retailer’s name etched to the ricasso which tends to indicate it was either sold through a small retailer not significant enough to justify a name template at the makers, the officer did not want any such details on his dirk, or tat it was made at the height of WW1 (1916-1918) when such detail was less important.

The 18 inch blade is very well etched and in good condition with minimal wear / patina / rust, plus firm in the hilt. Hilt in good order. The fishskin grip and associated grip wire bindings also very good. The leather and brass fittings scabbard with some age / wear is nonetheless still good. The dirk sheathes and draws well. The locking catch mechanism works well.
Very nice WW1 example. Well priced at (was) £700, now £560 . Please quote item reference AG54. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 1495-71x11x11 (0.874).
