The full lions head on stirrup hilt and lack of a crown over the fouled anchors on the langets shows this to be an 1805 pattern RN officer’s sword, the black fishskin grip shows it was for a junior officer (lieutenant).
The 23 1/4 triform type blade has some inert rust pitting but is overall good for age. The blade is a little loose in the hilt and grip. The hilt has a little distortion to the cross guard but is otherwise good. The black fishskin with some wear / moth holes has a small gap under the pommel. The twisted grip wire mostly very good but with a lesser wayward strand here and there.
