The date part of the Klingenthal maker’s inscription to the blade’s spine is illegible. This An XI briquet is either Napoleonic or just after.
The 23 1/4 inch blade has age / a steady patina and several nicks to the cutting edge. Blade firm in the hilt. The one piece brass grip / hilt with age but good.
