Serial number 91432 for 1967. We have been advised by Royal Armouries that the Wilkinson sales ledger states this sword was sold to the “W/O” which, although out of date in terminology, we take to mean the War Office (Ministry of Defense).

The 31 1/2 inch blade is in good condition but has been replated, so the etching is very feint. Blade firm in the hilt. The hilt in very good condition but missing a grip rosette. The ivorine (faux ivory) grip in good condition but for a hairline crack. The correct sword knot in good condition, a little wear but not much. The steel (lower ranking general staff) scabbard in very good condition. The mameluke draws and sheathes well.
