The etching style is very much different on these Hawksworth / Sheffield made swords to those made in Birmingham & London.
The 32 3/8 inch superbly grey / gray etched blade in very good condition save for some small patina patches, thankfully mostly away from the etching. Blade firm in hilt. The hilt / guard has tarnish and some rust spots but is good. The black fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings very good. The field service leather scabbard with wear / age and some scrapes is nonetheless sound / good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A well above average quality sword for a well below average price, was £? (too late, now sold). Please quote item reference AF76. Further / full sized images upon request. Box 1255-121x19x16 (1.853).
