The forte of the blade is etched to “Hebbert & Hume Pall Mall” which dates the sword to 1829. The Duke of York’s Own Rifle Corps (60th Rifles) later became the King’s Royal Rifle Corps and more recently the Green Jackets.

The 32 1/8 inch pipe back blade is in very good condition for its age. The hilt does move around the blade a little and has some polished out former rust pitting, though the blade is firm in the grip. The grip and twisted grip wire in very good condition. The steel scabbard aged, with several dents and polished out rust but sound. The sword sheathes and draws well.
