Circa 1900. The Jian is most widely known as a sword, but came in dagger size too.
The 6 5/8 inch plain steel blade has some age (light inert pitting and patina) but is nonetheless in good condition and firm in the hilt. The brass guard, wooden grip and steel pommel all have age but are otherwise very good. The rayskin with brass fittings sheath is good. The dagger sheathes and draws well.
