Unused, with (British) Crown Agent stores label (dated 17th November 1967) still attached, plus clear tape over blank officer / regiment name blocks on blade. No maker’s name; almost certainly British or German (Solingen) made. Colonial British coat of arms to the guard and also etched to the blade. You certainly do not come across many, if not any others of these!
The 32 inch well etched blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt. The plated steel hilt / guard has a light milky age tarnish (easily removed and buffed up to a bright finish with a decent metal finishing polish) is in very good condition. The black faux fishskin grip also very good; the twisted grip wire bindings good but some lesser strand turns slightly astray. Leather field service scabbard in very good condition. The sword sheathes and draws well.
Rare sunset of the British Empire colonial Nigerian army officer’s sword in superb unused condition, just £350. Please quote item reference ZW90. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2199 106 x 13 x 13 (1.604).
