Chinese character inserts to the blade and intricately engraved brass work to the hilt / guard and scabbard; this is aa quality late 19C / Boxer Rebellion era Chinese army officer’s dha sword.
The 27 5/8 inch twin fullered, hand / traditionally forged blade has age and wear, but not much (it is in very good condition), plus firm in the hilt. The quality ornate brass on hardwood hilt is in very good condition for its age; the disc guard is a little wobbly, as should be expected / is normal. The matching brass on wood scabbard is in very good condition for its age. The sword sheathes and draws well.
