Likely Wilkinson Sword made for Firmin as they did make some swords for them and it has all the characteristics of being a Wilkinson, including a very similar logo to the blade (but with a “F” instead of “W”). EX-MOD sword, likely one from a RN college.
The well (acid) etched blade is in good condition, save for age to the point. Blade firm in the hilt. The gilt brass hilt is very good, as are the faux fishskin grip and twisted grip wire bindings. The leather and gilt brass scabbard has a kink in it, so it flops around when the the sword is not sheathed; otherwise good for its age. The sword sheathes and draws well if care taken when sheathing due to the kink. The folding guard section of the hilt does not locate onto the scabbard’s retaining pin.
Impressive looking example of a Firmin ERII RN officer’s sword likely made by Wilkinson, just £400. Please quote item reference ZV08. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2224 101 x 16 x 16 (1.46).
