Circa 1860, with “Berks Constabulary” and Victorian crown etched to blade.
The 23 1/4 inch blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt. The gilt hilt / stirrup guard is in good condition. The black fishskin is in slightly worn condition but good; no twisted grip wire bindings and probably never was. The thumb scabbard locking button is wobbly but still just works. The leather and brass fittings scabbard has age, wear and is broken in two. The sword sheathes and draws well when the scabbard parts are held together.
Very nice example despite the scabbard damage, just £425. Please quote item reference ZV06. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2225 80 x 13 x 13 (1.606).
