*NB: the cutting edge has multiple old / period nicks to the cutting edge of the blade.
Firangis (aka Khandas) were often status symbols of Mughal emperors, Rajpur maharajahs and Deccan sultans. This sword is not to the royal / noble standard; maybe one of their personal protection guards.
Traditionally forged blade with some decoration. Circa 1880.
The 30 1/4 inch traditionally forged blade has multiple old nicks to the cutting edge, otherwise aged / worn but good plus firm in the hilt. The hilt has age / wear but is generally good. The later replacement scabbard is good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
A circa 1880 Indian firangi / khanda sword, just £500. Please quote item reference ZU61. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box?
