Dated 191 and correct British acceptance marks, including regiment stores “M H C” and “I I G” under crows foot. This British Chindit’s / Nepalese Gurkha’s Kukri would still have been in service during World War Two against the Imperial Japanese Army in the Burmese and Malaysian jungles.
The 13 1/8 inch blade is aged but good and firm in the hilt. The hilt has age and wear as is should, but is in good condition. The two companion knives are good, both sharpened. The leather sheath is aged for sure, but sound. The kukri and knives sheath and draw well.
There are plenty of cheap wannabe kukris out there, but very few authentic WW1 / WW2 British Chindit’s / Nepalese Gurkha’s Kukris like this; a pinch / steal at only £325, really. Please quote item reference ZU30. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box?
