This British West Indies (Bermuda most likely) Victorian senior musician’s Shortsword is rare; unmarked and with a fishskin grip, it was a private purchase by the regiment. With a Tudor crown to the langets, it is British East Indies for sure. No maker’s mark or other stamps visible.
The 25 inch plain blade has a steady patina, a slightly bent tip, a couple of period / very old nicks (no burr, patina to the nicks). Blade firm in the hilt. The brass hilt is good but one quillon is bent downwards a little. The fishskin grip is aged and worn, with a small piece done, but is nonetheless good; the twisted grip wire bindings are good. No scabbard.
