Yeomany marked to the guard “LM YC 15” for London Middlesex Yeomanry Cavalry, weapon number 15, and “LM YC 27” to the scabbard, so the scabbard was replaced with another from the same regiment at some stage. Enfield (small arms factory) was the British state’s maker based in the town / suburb of London of that same name.
The 35 3/8 inch blade is in good condition, some small patina patches, and firm in the hilt. The steel three bar guard is good with a steady aging / patina. The ribbed grip is good, the original leather surface with wear and some small parches of loss. The heavy steel scabbard is good with a steady brown hue, some minor dings (small dents). The sword sheathes and draws well.
