No maker’s name (as is the norm). Marked “2nd W. India” to the scabbard for the Barbados (Caribbean) Garrisoned regiment of foot. The “West India” referring to the British colonies of / in the Caribbean; read about the 2nd West India Regiment here and here.
British 1800’s infantry musician’s / bandsman’s swords are scarce enough; this sword is in VGC (Very Good Condition) and thereby rare.

The plain steel 27 1/2 inch blade is in exceptionally good condition and firm in the hilt. The heavy / solid brass hilt / guard / grip is in very good condition, minimal wear, the chain still present. The brass scabbard has a couple of dings towards the chape but is nonetheless very good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
As good as 1800’s musicians sword come and at £700 we expect this one to go quick quick, not slow. Please quote item reference ZW44. Further / full sized images available upon request. Box 2127 91 x 13 x 13 (1.845).
