In good condition, a pipe back William IV British Infantry Officer’s or Staff Sergeant’s Sword

Georgian period. No maker’s details. 1830 to 1837. Plain blade wiith no sign of etching, so worn away or possibly a scarce staff sergeant’s sword.
The plain 32 inch pipe back quill pointed blade has wear / age / some patina but is in good order and firm in the hilt. The brass “gothic” hilt has some gilt spots remaining and is generally in good condition; the folding guard section works fairly well. The fishsking grip has some age / wear but is generally good, though the larger twisted grip wire binding is absent. The steel field service scabbard has a steady age patina and a few dents, mostly around the chape (indicative of active duty use). The sword sheathes and draws well. The sword knot is a later addition and in fair but aged condition. The sword sheathes and draws a little loosely but well enough.
