Priced to go – af (as found / seen) – bottom of scabbard and grip twisted wire gone, folding guard secured open (effectively making it a 1786 pattern). Some blue and gilt blade etching feint but visible.
The 32 1/8 inch blade is aged and worn with patina patches but sound and firm in the hilt. The brass hilt good but a little loose generally and the folding guard section is secured open, either glued or brazed. The wtisted wire grip surface is gone, leaving the copper coloured layer over wooden base. The brass fittings and leather scabbard has lost its chape end, though is otherwise sound with the old style frog button still present. The sword sheathes and draws well.
