Etched to Armfields Ltd Birmingham and bearing King George 5th’s cypher. Circa World War One.
The 32 3/4 inch well (grey) etched blade is in good condition (a light patina patch towards the point) and firm in the hilt. The stainless steel hilt / guard is also in very good condition. The black fishskin grip with superb large rayskin nodules is, yes, that’s right, also in good condition; the associated twisted grip wire bindings are also good. The original leather sword knot is a little aged and worn, but still good. The field service leather scabbard is a little aged but, yet again good. The sword sheathes and draws well.
