Best guess based on the leather inside the hilt; turn of the Century (a Victorian / Edwardian Renaissance Revival Scottish Basket Hilted Broadsword). In any event, the Jacobite (early 18C) style hilt and blade are well done, especially the hilt. There is an inscription to the fuller on one side of the blade which we can not make out, plus some engraved maker’s marks (a “M” and a thistle).
The 32 inch steel blade is in good condition and firm in the hilt. The very well made steel basket hilt is in very good condition, The leather grip with some age is good, as are the twisted grip wire bindings. The leather hilt inserts are aged but good. Scabbard absent.
