In aged but good condition, an authentic Waterloo French Cuirassier Trooper’s Sword

OK, so the blade’s rust pitting has made the date inscription and inspection marks virtually indiscernible; almost certainly 1814. But it is 100% authentic and clearly a Waterloo battle trophy. The inspection marks to the hilt suggest pre-1814 even, as the original rack number has been partially removed. This would mean, if the blade is dated 1814, that the guard / hilt had a replacement blade fitted in 1814 (just before Waterloo) due to the original being battle damaged, maybe from the French invasion of Russia or the Peninsular War.
The sword has not been converted (no 1816m guard or extra grip turns) in any way, which it would have been had it stayed in French service after Waterloo. It was around at Waterloo because it has been spear pointed (first done by French regiments just before Waterloo). It has been unsheathed (no doubt on display) in the UK for a long time, hence the rust. It therefore can only be a Waterloo trophy.
The monster 37 5/8 inch blade has some pitting but is solid and good, and firm in the hilt. The hilt with knocks and scuffs and dings commensurate with a long arduous very active service life is nonetheless good. The original leather grip is worn but sound (leather balsam may be used if desired); the twisted grip wire is a replacement but good. The heavy steel scabbard has pitting but is sound and good. The sword sheaths and draws well.
