WW1 British Cavalry Trooper's Wilkinson Sword
Camouflage Paint, sold |
In good condition, a scarce WW1 British Cavalry Trooper's Wilkinson
Sword still with its war time camouflage paint.

It is very rare to find these iconic cavalry swords complete with
their WW1 camouflage paint. The regimental markings on the inside
of the hilt and scabbard are not clear, but look to be the same;
some careful cleaning would probably identify the regiment. The
blade is dated to March 1915 and marked to Wilkinson.

The 35 inch blade is in very good condition and firm in the hilt.
The hilt / guard retains much original dark green over yellow primer
war time camouflage paint and has very little denting / bending
/ scuffing. The pommel has a light rust but is sound. The grip with
some wear. The steel scabbard in good condition, some light rust
but not much, slightly bent towards the point (probably period).
The sword sheathes and draws well.
Camouflage paint! Wilkinson! £? (too late, now sold)!. Please
quote item reference number V85 (1080). Further / full sized pictures
available upon request.
